How it's built

Started at 1,000. Stablecoins and gold tokens excluded. Members are the ten largest coins at each update, and the divisor adjusts when they change so the line stays continuous.

How it's estimated

Bitcoin aims for one block every 10 minutes, so the date is the remaining blocks × 10 minutes. Real block times vary, so the estimate drifts by days.

What this means

Conversions use the latest prices on KryptoKap. Exchanges charge fees and their prices differ slightly, so a real trade will give a little less.

How it's calculated

Result = amount × price of coin A ÷ price of coin B

How to use it

  1. Choose the coin you have and how much.
  2. Choose what to convert to, either dollars or another coin.
  3. Read the result at KryptoKap's latest prices.

Worked example

0.5 ETH at $2,250 is $1,125. At a Bitcoin price of $70,000, that's about 0.0161 BTC, before any exchange fee or spread.

Reading the result

The result shows how much your amount is worth in the coin or currency you convert to, plus the rate for one unit. It uses the latest prices on KryptoKap. For coins with very small prices the number of units can be large, so check the decimals before copying it into a trade.
