How it's built

Started at 1,000. Stablecoins and gold tokens excluded. Members are the ten largest coins at each update, and the divisor adjusts when they change so the line stays continuous.

Countdown

Bitcoin halving

Every 210,000 blocks, the reward for mining new Bitcoin is cut in half.

How it's estimated

Bitcoin aims for one block every 10 minutes, so the date is the remaining blocks × 10 minutes. Real block times vary, so the estimate drifts by days.

Today's crypto prices by market cap

KryptoKap 10 Index

The KryptoKap 10 stands at 1,006.84 today.

One number for the ten largest cryptocurrencies, weighted by market cap. It started at 1,000, so a reading of 1,100 means the group is worth 10% more than when the index began.

How it's built

The members are the ten largest coins, leaving out stablecoins and gold tokens. Each counts in proportion to its market cap, so Bitcoin carries the most weight.

When members change

If a coin enters or leaves the top ten, the index swaps it at the next update and adjusts its divisor, so the change of members doesn't make the line jump. Only real price moves change the level.

Why use it

It shows how the biggest part of the market is moving without one coin's story getting in the way, the way a stock index sums up the largest companies.

Why Bitcoin dominates it

Bitcoin is worth more than the other nine members combined, so it sets most of the index's direction. That's deliberate, because the index reflects where the money actually is. For a view that treats every coin equally, look at the Fear & Greed score's breadth parts or the altcoin season index.

How to compare it

The level itself has no special meaning beyond the 1,000 starting point. What matters is the change. Compare the 30-day move here with a single coin's 30-day move to see whether that coin is beating the largest part of the market.

Questions

What is the KryptoKap 10?

An index of the ten largest cryptocurrencies, excluding stablecoins and gold tokens, weighted by market cap and started at 1,000.

Can I invest in it?

No. It's a measurement, not a product, and there's no fund that tracks it.

How often are members checked?

At every update, every 30 minutes. A coin joins as soon as it ranks in the top ten.

Why do the weights add up to 100%?

Each weight is that coin's market cap divided by the combined market cap of all ten members.
